Manchester United Season Preview 2008/09

Last season manchester united could say they arguably had their best season for a long, long time. They produced wonder seasons for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, helping them to win the two big titles of the season; the Premier League and the Uefa Champions League.

Along with two titles came a Premier League top scorer and World Player of the Year within manchester united’s player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo.

Once again it was chelsea applying the pressure on manchester united, coming close second in the league and the opponents in the final of the Champions League.

manchester united overcame there big rivals to finish two points ahead of the London team. In the final of the Champions League, chelsea looked like winners as the game went to a penalty shootout where only a fatal mistake by John Terry opened the Door for Manchester United to take the cup! All in all a great season for Manchester United.

Pre-season saw Manchester United play Aberdeen in their first friendly. United made a winning start to the new pre-season campaign, as goals from Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney sealed a hard-fought victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Playing many first team players such as Carrick, Rooney and Giggs.

A promising start by Aberdeen the talent and strength of Manchester United paid dividends to the English team as they comfortably won 2-0. Manchester United have three more Pre-season games scheduled, against the Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and the finally games is to be confirmed.

In the gap between seasons, Manchester United had the biggest transfer talk of the league concerning their star man, Cristiano Ronaldo! Media headlines involving millions of pounds for the Portuguese midfielder. The fate of the player is still undecided, whatever happens one thing’s for sure it will not happen quietly the media and press will be all over it so you can’t miss a thing.

Manchester United have not been the busiest in the market this year with only three players moving, two out from expired loans and one in on a short-term loan. This could possibly be down to the reason that Manchester United had so much success last season that they feel there is no need for improvement just yet!

Rumors say that Manchester United are looking into the possible signing of Robinho form Real Madrid.

But this is just a rumor who knows anything could happen! As well as interest in Robinho rumors have it that Manchester United are looking into a deal will Tottenham Hotspur, Dimitar Berbatov. Berbatov’s future at White Hart Lane has been the subject of conjecture for some time, with the 27-year-old linked with a move away from North London for much of last season. So I can understand why there is interest in the top quality striker.

One downside to the pre-season start is that Manchester United lost their main coach Scolari. So first things first a new coach needed before the start of the season.

Cristiano Ronaldo Pictures An Improved Performance Next Season At Manchester United

Manchester United’s player of the season last year, Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo has recently struck more fear in to the hearts of opposing Premiership defenders by stating that he pictures an even better season for the newly crowned Premiership Champions.

Cristiano Ronaldo was by far the best player for Manchester United last season, and was also the best player in the whole of the Premiership, scoring 23 goals on his way to securing the Premiership trophy for the Man Utd team. Ronaldo was also voted both PFA Young Player Of The Year, and PFA Players’ Player Of The Year – an achievement in itself.

Despite the personal success last season round for Ronaldo, the young Portuguese star has now said that he would like to play even better for the Old Trafford side, and would like to beat last season’s record of 18 Premiership goals – which was third behind Benni Mcarthy’s 19 goals and chelsea Striker Didier Drogba’s 20 goal-haul.

Ronaldo went on to say “I have been in England for four years now. In my first season, I scored seven goals, in my second I scored nine, then 12 and last season I got 23. I try to improve every season”.

It is quite hard to see how Cristiano Ronaldo can perform better next season at Manchester United, seeming as he played so well last season. Perhaps he will link up even better with his team-mates since the arrival of old Portuguese friend, left-winger Nani. Another new arrival is Brazilian central midfielder Anderson, and English central midfielder Owen Hargreaves. If the prolonged Carlos Tevez saga is ever resolved then the Argentinean striker might also help to improve the Man Utd team, which could in turn help Ronaldo to perform even better.

One thing which is certain is that Cristiano Ronaldo will try his best to improve both his goal scoring record and his own performances next season. The young winger has already joked with Sir Alex Ferguson about making another bet regarding how many goals he scores – this time the loser is apparently going to shave all their hair off. It is unseen whether Sir Alex or Cristiano would be willing to do this should their bet lose – so I’m sure either way he will see Ronaldo improving again as a footballer when the next season kicks off.

How To Make Sure You Choose The Correct Soccer Boots For The New Season

For those of you who have ever played football or soccer at any level you’ll understand how important good boots are to your performance. It used to be a ritual for my team mates and me to go shopping in the pre-season together to get our new football boots. When I was younger there was choice alright but nothing compared to today, you’re choice consisted of moulded studs or screw in and then the different makes. Today the choice is endless, but what ones should you choose and why?

If you read the product details on your new kids football boots to help you equate the sporting goods offered in this category. We dragged the football boot upper crossed a football and the football boot in truth does grip the ball. Preds are the choicer boot in my opinion, though it is fold.

Look to the right chromatography column to find helpful suggestions for your shopping session. Contoured heel, external heel parry and shaped choker software system offer stability and comfort. You will be a sports fanatic and particularly interested in tennis but kids football boots and all its games are better by a mile. Association football it is wet on the floor to practice my soccer skills shall I go and get muddy and practice on grass? Many players now use this personalisation military service to both ameliorate their boots and to make them easily identifiable in the club environment.

In football, referees must now check all boots prior to kick off to check for equipment casualty to studs, to preclude harm. Doses should be excluded if they experience immunoglobulin within seven days after the treatment application is on and linen in hot body of water. Kid’s football boots must fit correctly as children’s feet can be damaged by incorrectly fitting boots

Adidas have been about a long time, and intelligent competition from littler companies is all part of the game. I am a nerve centre back in association football shall I still practice run with the ball? We tried them at the weekend and will be lease you know soon how we got on. Skirrow agrees that the weight unit of the football boot should be a consideration, tho’ he cautions that it should not be the main feature. If you get the pred, you know you are getting a solid cleat. Doses should be excluded if they welcome immunoglobulin inside seven days after the treatment application is on and linen in hot knee.

So don’t skimp when it comes to your boots as you will need them to last you the whole season, there is nothing worse in football than having to break in new boot mid season.

I try to pass on my musings on life and experiences in a way that people may find interesting to read.

Bolton Wanderers continued to prove themselves as a top Premiership club despite financial restrictions preventing manager Sam Allardyce from taking the club on further. Allardyce himself was the subject of speculation, linking him with the England job as well as both Sunderland and Aston Villa over the summer.

Last season’s involvement in the UEFA Cup took its toll on the squad and this summer more players have been shipped out than have come in. Cult heroes Jay Jay Okocha and Bruno N’Gotty have moved on to Qatari side Sport Club and Birmingham City respectively after long spells at the club.

Radhi Jaidi who made an impression in the World Cup with Tunisia has also moved to the Midlands side while Mexican striker Jared Borghetti, who made little impact since joining the club last summer is set to leave the Reebok Stadium.

Manchester United stalwart Quinton Fortune arrived on a free transfer after being released from Old Trafford in the summer. The South African midfielder joined the Reds for £1.5 million from Atletico Madrid in 1999 and made 76 appearances.

Ivory Coast defender Abdoulaye Meite signed for an undisclosed fee from Marseille after making over 100 appearances in five seasons for the French side, but fell out of favour with coach Jean Fernandez last term.

Idan Tal, who had a spell in the Premiership with Everton between 2000 and 2002, joined on a free transfer from Maccabi Haifa. The Israeli international, with 58 caps to his name, has also played for Real Vallecano.

Verdict

Sam Allardyce will find life tougher in the Premiership this season after losing several key players, including on loan Hidetoshi Nakata, who returned to Fiorentina. Not participating in Europe will help the reduced squad stay fresh for league duty but the Trotters could see themselves slip out of the top 10 for the first time in four seasons.
